Chinese diplomat shoots down Biden’s claim of Beijing distancing itself from Moscow

It is reported that relations between Beijing and Moscow are not aimed against any third party

BEIJING, November 11. /TASS/. China is not distancing itself from Russia as US President Joe Biden claims, quite the opposite is true, because Beijing is strengthening its partnership with Moscow, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian stressed on Friday.

"Russia and China continue to cultivate stable and harmonious bilateral relations for the long-term perspective," the diplomat told a news briefing, replying to a TASS correspondent for a comment on Biden’s recent remark about China allegedly distancing itself from Russia.

"China is interested in cooperation with Russia and we are ready to continuously advance the development of ties between our countries in the right direction," Zhao Lijian assured.

According to the Chinese diplomat, relations between Beijing and Moscow are not aimed against any third party. "Our interaction is based on mutual respect and bilateral advantages."

US President Biden said on Wednesday that he believed that Russia and China were not involved in forming a bilateral alliance in view of the recent geopolitical developments. Biden even claimed that the Chinese authorities were even trying to somehow 'distance' themselves from Russia.
