MOSCOW, December 19. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has pledged on Friday the state will work in close cooperation with businesses.

“It is absolutely obvious that new niches are to appear where it will be profitable to invest available resources,” Putin said at a meeting with representatives of big businesses and stressed the necessity to diversify the Russian economy.

The government takes counsel with business when making major economic decisions, the Russian president stressed. Russian government to be working in close contact with businesses under the conditions of the domestic economy diversification, he added.

At a meeting with representatives of Russia’s major business circles, Putin stressed the need to diversify the Russian economy. “It is very obvious that certain new niches must be developed, in which it would be beneficial to invest our existing resources,” Putin said. “We need to have them (the niches) in order to invest into them and must be assured that the government would help.”

Russia is able to cope with problems in the economy, though not a simple period is ahead, Putin noted.

Putin has invited representatives of big Russian businesses to discuss the current situation in Russia and capital amnesty.

“There are some things, some novelties that were offered in the state-of-the-nation address, for instance, a proposal to amnesty capital,” Putin said at a meeting with representatives of big Russian businesses on Friday.
