MOSCOW, October 29. /TASS/. Russia has supplied 13 million tonnes of grain to African countries during the first nine months of this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced at the first plenary session of the Russia-Africa summit.
The head of state noted that Russia serves as a stable supplier of food and agricultural products to African markets. "This represents a concrete, tangible contribution to ensuring food security across the entire African continent," he said.
"Specifically, in 2025, we shipped over 18 million tonnes of grain to Africa, followed by another 13 million tonnes in just the first nine months of 2026. Russian deliveries of mineral fertilizers reached approximately 1.5 million tonnes last year and have already exceeded 2.2 million tonnes this year," the Russian leader added. He also noted that Russia annually allocates funds to the UN World Food Program for projects supporting the continent's nations and regularly provides them with free humanitarian aid.
