CIS business communities implementing major industrial projects — Putin

The Russian president noted that import substitution processes are advancing within the bloc, boosting the output of a wide range of products

TURKMENBASHI /Turkmenistan/, October 9. /TASS/. Business communities across the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) are implementing major industrial and infrastructure projects while forging new Eurasian production chains, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday at a restricted-format meeting of CIS leaders.

"Business communities in CIS countries are implementing major industrial and infrastructure projects, as was just mentioned," Putin said. "New Eurasian production and transport chains are being formed, while the transcontinental North-South and East-West logistics corridors are being modernized and expanded."

The Russian president noted that import substitution processes are advancing within the bloc, boosting the output of a wide range of products, including machinery, equipment, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural goods. Furthermore, the financial system established within the CIS not only facilitates trade but also fosters capital market development and reciprocal investments, he added.
