Trade turnover between Russia and China increased by 3% in 2025 to 47 mln tons, while the flow of transport through border crossing points exceeded 790,000 units, an increase of more than 20%, the Russian Transport Ministry reported following a meeting of the intergovernmental commission in Harbin.
"The indicators are growing: trade turnover increased by 3% last year to 47 mln tons. The flow of transport through checkpoints exceeded 790,000 units, an increase of more than 20%," the report said.
Road transport volumes increased exponentially in 2024-2025, exceeding 6 mln tons. In 2025, Russian carriers were issued more than 217,000 permits, an increase of 46%. Visa requirements for drivers and the list of hazardous cargoes were also expanded, the ministry said.
