Russia’s envoy to Dushanbe states stable upward trend in republic's trade with EAEU

"Trade turnover between Tajikistan and EAEU states has a stable upward trend," he noted

DUSHANBE, February 10. /TASS/. EAEU (Eurasian Economic Union) member states accounted for over one third of the volume of Tajikistan’s foreign trade turnover over the past two years, with total trade turnover having demonstrated a stable upward trend, Russian Ambassador to Dushanbe Semyon Grigoryev said in an interview with TASS.

Asked about the discussion of the republic’s cooperation with EAEU at the Russian-Tajik talks, he said that it is possible to look at it through a focus on statistics. EAEU member states accounted for the bulk of Tajikistan’s foreign trade turnover in 2023, which amounted to over $2.97 bln, or 36% of the country’s total foreign trade, while in 2024 it totaled $3.3 bln or 38.5%, respectively, the diplomat said.

EAEU is an international organization for economic integration, which includes Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. Iran, Cuba, and Uzbekistan are observers at the Union.
