Russia’s mobile ICBM launchers supplied with remote mine-clearance vehicles — commander

The troops have also received wheeled road vehicles specially designed for the Strategic Missile Force’s engineering units

MOSCOW, January 18. /TASS/. The Russian Strategic Missile Force’s mobile intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launchers are fully supplied with Listva remote mine-clearance vehicles, Chief of the Force’s Engineer Service Colonel Vladimir Khoroshunov said on Wednesday.

"We have completed outfitting all the formations of the Strategic Missile Force’s mobile component with Listva remote-controlled mine-clearance vehicles. We are taking the delivery of engineer support and camouflaging vehicles," the colonel said in an interview with the Defense Ministry’s Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper.

The troops have also received wheeled road vehicles specially designed for the Strategic Missile Force’s engineering units. They are intended to prepare and maintain combat patrol routes for road-mobile ICBM launchers, he specified.

The deliveries of engineer equipment and materiel to the Strategic Missile Force have doubled over the past five years, the Force’s engineer chief said.

The 15M107 Listva remote mine-clearance vehicle was specially engineered for Russia’s Strategic Missile Force and makes part of military columns of Yars and Topol-M ICBM launchers along the routes of their combat patrols. The Listva operates on new physical principles: its electronic equipment is capable of detecting mines and roadside bombs at a range of 100 meters within a 30-degree sector.
