MOSCOW, October 18. /TASS/. Russia’s precision strikes wiped out all the designated military command and energy infrastructure targets and foreign weapons arsenals in the special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Tuesday.
"In the past 24 hours, the Russian Armed Forces continued delivering strikes by long-range air-and seal based high-precision weapons against Ukrainian military command and energy systems, and also arsenals of foreign weapons and ammunition. All the designated targets were destroyed," the spokesman said.
Russian forces thwarted another Ukrainian army attempt to cross the Zherebets River in the Krasny Liman area, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Krasny Liman direction, as a result of damage inflicted by firepower on the advancing assault groups of the Ukrainian army’s 71st jaeger, 80th air assault and 25th airborne brigades in the areas of the settlements of Stelmakhovka and Rozovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Karpovka and Ivanovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the enemy’s attempts to cross the Zherebets River were thwarted," the spokesman said.
As a result of the combat engagement, Russian forces destroyed 46 Ukrainian troops, 2 armored personnel carriers, 6 combat armored vehicles and 2 pickup trucks with large-caliber machine-guns, the general specified.
Russian forces thwarted a Ukrainian army attempted attack to break through the defense line in the area of the settlement of Bruskinskoye in the Kherson Region, eliminating over 90 militants, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Nikolayev-Krivoi Rog direction, Ukrainian army units made attempts to break through the defense of Russian troops in the area of the settlement of Bruskinskoye in the Kherson Region. The enemy’s attack was repelled," the spokesman said.
Russian artillery delivered strikes against Ukrainian army positions, dispersing enemy troops and pushing them back to initial positions, the general said.
"In the past 24 hours, over 90 Ukrainian troops, 1 tank, 8 combat armored vehicles and 21 motor vehicles were destroyed in that direction," Konashenkov reported.
Russian forces destroyed a space communications station of the Ukrainian government communications center in the Odessa Region and crippled three AN/TPQ-37 counter-radar stations, an AN/TPQ-50 radar and an S-300 missile launcher, the general said.
"In the area of the settlement of Paliyevka in the Odessa Region, a space communications station of the Ukrainian government communications center was destroyed," the spokesman said.
"In the areas of the communities of Artyomovsk, Viyemka and Soledar in the Donetsk People’s Republic, three AN/TPQ-37 counter-battery radar stations and an AN/TPQ-50 radar of US manufacture were obliterated," the general added.
In addition, Russian forces destroyed a launcher of a Ukrainian S-300 anti-aircraft missile system near the settlement of Petropavlovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic and wiped out three ammunition depots in the areas of the settlements of Novoivanovka in the Nikolayev Region, Odnorobovka in the Kharkov Region and Krasny Liman in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Konashenkov reported.
Russian troops captured the settlement of Gorobyevka during an offensive in the Kupyansk direction in the Kharkov Region, inflicting heavy damage on Ukrainian army units, he said.
"In the Kupyansk direction, Russian armed formations captured the settlement of Gorobyevka during an offensive in the Kharkov Region and inflicted heavy damage on units of the 1st operational brigade of the Ukrainian National Guard. In addition, in the area of the community of Kislovka in the Kharkov Region, Russian forces thwarted an attempted attack by the Ukrainian army’s tactical company group reinforced by tanks," the spokesman said.
In all, the Ukrainian military lost over 60 troops, one tank, three combat armored vehicles and two pickup trucks in the Kupyansk direction in the past day, the general specified.
Russian troops struck the command post of the Ukrainian army’s Dnieper integrated battlegroup near the city of Zaporozhye and radar repair workshops of the Iskra research and production enterprise, Konashenkov reported.
"The strikes by operational-tactical and army aviation aircraft, missile and artillery troops in the area of the city of Zaporozhye destroyed the following targets: the command post of the Ukrainian army’s Dnieper integrated battlegroup and workshops for the repair of radar stations at the Iskra research and production enterprise," the spokesman said.
Russian forces also struck 56 Ukrainian artillery units at firing positions, manpower and military hardware in 132 areas, the general said.
Russian forces struck two Ukrainian artillery batteries in the Kherson Region and a platoon of American HIMARS rocket systems in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Konashenkov reported.
"In counter-battery warfare, two Ukrainian artillery batteries were struck in the areas of the settlements of Trifonovka and Novonikolayevka in the Kherson Region and a platoon of American HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems was obliterated in the area of the community of Drobyshevo in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.
Russian air defense forces shot down ten Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the Kherson, Nikolayev and Zaporozhye Regions and the Donetsk People’s Republic in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"In the past 24 hours, air defense capabilities shot down ten Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the settlements of Kirovo, Sukhanovo, Kucherskoye and Dmitrenko in the Kherson Region, Yevgenovka in the Nikolayev Region, Zelyony Gai and Vladimirovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Krasnosyolovka, Ternovoye and Energodar in the Zaporozhye Region," the spokesman said.
In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 323 Ukrainian military aircraft, 161 helicopters, 2,266 unmanned aerial vehicles, 381 surface-to-air missile systems, 5,876 tanks and other combat armored vehicles, 871 multiple rocket launchers, 3,485 field artillery guns and mortars and 6,635 special military motor vehicles since the beginning of their special military operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov reported.
