Ukraine forced to ask partners for just a few air defense missiles — Air Force

According to Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yury Ignat, Spain, Poland, Romania, Germany, the Netherlands and a number of other countries consistently help Ukraine

MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. Kiev has to literally beg its Western partners for just a few interceptor missiles for its air defense systems, Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yury Ignat said.

"Sometimes we literally have to ask for just a few missiles, because the situation is such that we need to protect a particular facility," he said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

According to him, this is the case not only with interceptor missiles for the US-made Patriot air defense systems, but other systems as well. According to Ignat, the Patriot system is in service with Spain, Poland, Romania, Germany, the Netherlands, and a number of other countries. "These are countries that consistently help us," he noted.

Kiev had previously complained repeatedly about a shortage of interceptor missiles for its air defense. On October 15, CNN, citing sources, reported that Ukraine’s stockpile of Patriot missiles had completely run out. Later, Vladimir Zelensky complained about delays in the delivery of American interceptor missiles purchased with funds from European Union countries under the PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) mechanism. He accused Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth of delaying the delivery of missiles for the Patriot and NASAMS air defense systems by a month.
