Vucic pledges to prevent Serbia from being part of EU’s plans of conflict with Russia

Serbia "is becoming a thorn in the side of Europe," the former president said

BELGRADE, October 22. /TASS/. Aleksandar Vucic, who resigned as Serbia’s president on September 27, has pledged that he will do his utmost not to allow the country to become part of the European Union’s plans to prepare for an armed conflict with Russia.

Serbia "is becoming a thorn in the side of Europe as it prepares for a future war with Russia," he told the Prva television channel. "I don’t want Serbia to be part of this war, and I will not let Serbia become part of it."

Snap parliamentary elections in Serbia will be held on October 25. Vucic will lead the ruling Serbian Progressive Party’s list and become its candidate for prime minister. His main opponent is 56-year-old cardiologist Ilija Srdanovic from Novi Sad, who leads the Student List coalition.
