Future world order to be a world of Asia, BRICS — Brazilian politician

Jose Dirceu also highlighted shifts in US foreign policy

RIO DE JANEIRO, August 21. /TASS/. The emerging multipolar global order is increasingly centered around Asia and the BRICS nations, despite ongoing efforts by the United States to restore its dominance in the Western Hemisphere, Jose Dirceu, a close confidant of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, has said in an interview with TASS.

"I firmly believe that the transformations we've witnessed over the past 25 years signal the dawn of a new world order. I often emphasize that this new era will be defined by Asia and BRICS. Our bloc - comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa - has grown significantly, exemplified by the establishment of the New Development Bank," Dirceu stated.

He also highlighted shifts in US foreign policy. "There have been profound changes - if not always in substance, then certainly in form. Under President Donald Trump, the United States essentially revived the Monroe Doctrine, which continues to influence global dynamics, especially in Latin America and Brazil. In this new geopolitical landscape, Brazil is poised to play a pivotal role," he remarked. Dirceu also pointed out that Brazil is once again encountering interference from Washington in its elections and domestic institutions.
