BEIJING, December 3. /TASS/. China expects the new US administration to move towards normalizing bilateral relations, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said.
"China calls on the United States to do more to stabilize relations between the two countries and hopes that its new government will take initial steps to settle Chinese-US relations," the Chinese foreign ministry quoted him as saying at a meeting with visiting chair of the US National Committee on American Foreign Policy Susan Elliott.
"China opposes the US resuming weapons sales to Taiwan and expanding its illegal unilateral sanctions in the transition period," the top Chinese diplomat stressed.
