WASHINGTON, November 20. /TASS/. By the time Donald Trump assumes office as the 47th president of the United States, he will face a substantial number of executive orders awaiting his signature, a source from his transition team told TASS.
Before Trump’s inauguration, a considerable volume of new executive orders will be ready, the source stated, without providing specifics.
Commenting on Trump’s intention to appoint US billionaire Elon Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy to lead a new department focused on reducing bureaucracy in the incoming administration, the official did not rule out significant cuts to the federal workforce. Musk and Ramaswamy could be tasked with evaluating the political aspects of federal agencies' operations, including the Department of State and the Pentagon, rather than focusing on the technical aspects of improving Washington's administrative efficiency, the official added.
The process of transitioning from the outgoing administration is well underway, and this time, the transition is more organized than ever before, the official stated with confidence. However, the transition team has been hesitant to sign two memorandums of understanding related to housekeeping issues recently discussed by the White House. These documents, the official explained, are seen as "golden handcuffs." While they offer solutions to certain organizational challenges, they also impose limits on contributions for transition-related donations.
Trump will be inaugurated on January 20, 2025, following his victory in the November 5 presidential election. The Republican candidate defeated his Democratic rival, Kamala Harris. Trump previously served as the 45th US president from 2017 to 2021.
