DUBAI, April 14. /TASS/. Jordan intercepted drones launched from Iran towards Israel that violated the country's airspace to ensure the safety of its people, the country's government said in a statement.
"Some objects that entered our airspace last night were intercepted because they posed a threat to our people and populated areas. Several fragments [of downed targets] fell on the country's territory without causing any significant damage," the statement said.
Earlier, the Fars news agency stated that Iran was monitoring Jordan's moves and threatened to strike the kingdom if it hindered the Islamic Republic from attacking Israel. The agency also claimed that Iranian authorities issued "necessary warnings" to neighboring countries, including Jordan, before to the strike.
