US plans to include $300 mln worth of ATACMS missiles in new assistance to Kiev — Politico

WASHINGTON, March 12. /TASS/. The US plans to transfer $300 million worth of ATACMS tactical missiles to Ukraine, the Politico newspaper reported citing US administration officials.

The additional package of US military assistance, which may be announced on Tuesday, will include the older version of ATACMS missiles, which have a range of 100 miles (160 km - TASS) and can carry hundreds of cluster munitions, the report said. The package is also expected to include 155mm artillery rounds and rockets for Guided Multiple Launch Rocket Systems.

Reuters reported earlier that the US is preparing to provide Ukraine with the first military aid package in months, which will total $400 million and could be announced on Tuesday. Washington's last tranche of $250 million in military assistance was sent to Kiev in December 2023 from funds that had been approved by Congress in 2022.
