Gaza Health Ministry confirms 112 people killed by Israeli strike at Al-Nablusi area

Spokesman of the Gaza Health Ministry added that some bodies have not been found and delivered to a hospital for verification yet

CAIRO, February 29. /TASS/. Medical staff in the Gaza Strip can currently confirm the death of 112 people, killed by an Israeli strike at a crowd awaiting humanitarian aid in the Al-Nablusi area, says Ashraf al-Qudra, Spokesman of the Gaza Health Ministry.

"The death toll of the strike in the Al-Nablusi area has increased to 112, with 760 people injured," he said, according to the Health Ministry Telegram channel. He added that some bodies have not been found and delivered to a hospital for verification yet.

Previously, Al Hadath claimed that at least 150 people were killed and about 1,000 people were injured by the Israeli strike in the Al-Nablusi area. According to the report, the attack was carried out by Israeli helicopters, which opened fire at the Palestinians, who gathered at a crossroads.

Tensions flared up again in the Middle East on October 7, 2023, when militants from the Gaza Strip-based radical Palestinian movement Hamas staged a surprise attack on Israeli territory from Gaza, killing residents of Israeli border settlements and taking over 240 hostages, including women, children and the elderly. Hamas described its attack as a response to the aggressive actions of Israeli authorities against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City. In response, Israel declared a total blockade of the Gaza Strip, home to 2.3 million Palestinians before the crisis, and has been delivering air strikes on Gaza as well as some parts of Lebanon and Syria. Clashes have also been reported on the West Bank.
