MINSK, March 1. /TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko believes that his country will develop more intensively under a strong China, the BelTA news agency reported.

"We wish you success. This is our pragmatism. Since if China is strong, our Belarus will be strong and will develop," the Belarusian head of state said during a meeting with China's Prime Minister Li Keqiang.

Lukashenko congratulated the Chinese side on the success of the Congress of the Communist Party of China. "We've all been monitoring the situation, this Congress, very closely. We pay attention to the situation that is unfolding in the international arena," he said, "And we congratulate you on moving forward calmly, thoughtfully. You follow your own path, you are not disturbing anyone and you are not reacting to petty stings <…> against China, which is fully in line with the spirit and character of the Chinese people."

The Belarusian president stressed that China "has a peaceful, calm Belarus in the center of Europe." "Let's intensify our relations together for the benefit of our peoples. There are no closed topics for you, no closed regions. Come, we will cooperate. Our friendship has become all-encompassing. And in this vein, we are ready to act and go towards the Chinese people," the Belarusian leader said.

Lukashenko is in China on a state visit from February 28 to March 2.
