Russian language to be outlawed at Nikolayev schools from September 1 — city council

From September 1, there will be no electives, courses, primary school classes instructing in Russian, or design of the educational environment

KIEV, June 18. /TASS/. The Ukrainian city of Nikolayev will ban the Russian language at schools starting on September 1, Yekaterina Stokolyas, a member of the Nikolayev city council’s executive committee, said on Saturday.

"Yesterday, the executive committee voted to ban the use of the Russian language in secondary educational institutions in Nikolayev. From September 1, there will be no electives, courses, primary school classes instructing in Russian, or design of the educational environment," she wrote on Facebook (the Internet platform banned in Russia since it is owned by the Meta Corporation deemed extremist by Russian authorities).
