ABU DHABI, December 6. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for providing a land plot to build an Orthodox church.

"We are grateful to you for the decision to provide a plot of land for the construction of an Orthodox church," Putin said at the bilateral talks.

Speaking about humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, Putin noted that tourist exchanges are developing.

"Last year almost one million tourists from Russia, 900,000-odd tourists, visited the Arab Emirates," he said.

The Russian leader also said that a Russian school had opened in the UAE.
