Over 5.1 mln refugees arrive in Russia from Ukraine, Donbass

MOSCOW, January 9. /TASS/. The number of refugees from Ukraine and Donbass in Russia has surpassed 5.1 mln people, a source in security structures told TASS on Monday.

"According to the latest data, since last February, more than 5.1 mln people, including 728,000 children, have arrived in Russia," the source said.

The Russian government provides the refugees with a lump-sum allowance in the amount of 10,000 rubles (about $140 - TASS) per person. Over 12.3 bln rubles (more than $175 mln - TASS) have already been paid out.
