MOSCOW, January 22. /TASS/. Blogger Alexey Navalny’s spokesperson Kira Yarmysh has been taken into custody for nine days over calls for an unauthorized rally, a spokesperson for Moscow’s Savyolovsky District Court told TASS.

"The court found Yarmysh guilty of an administrative offence under Article 20.2.2 of the Russian Administrative Code (organizing or holding a public event without filing a notification in due course) and ruled that she should be remanded in custody for nine days," the court spokesperson said.

Navalny’s supporters earlier called online for rallies in the blogger’s support. The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office said that law enforcement agencies were ready to take preventive measures and hold those violating the law administratively liable. Moscow’s police issued a warning that those participating in unauthorized rallies could face responsibility for their actions.
