MOSCOW, November 16 (ITAR-TASS) Russia suggests India considers localisation of Kamov helicopters’ production in its territory, Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin told reports on Saturday.
“We have a major offer to the Indian side, which refers not only to purchases of Russian helicopters’ samples,” Rogozin said. “We, as India’s strategic partner, suggest organising a joint venture, including in the Indian territory.”
He said it was most important for India “to be not just a buyer, but to localise production in its territory.”
“We are ready to make an offer regarding Kamov helicopters,” Rogozin continued, adding the issue had been discussed during the talks between India’s Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President Putin.
