Decline in industrial production in Europe since 2021 has been dramatic — Putin

In Germany, the continent’s primary economy, the drop ranges from 1.5% to 5.2%, underlinded Russian president

MOSCOW, October 25. /TASS/. The decline in industrial production in many leading economies in Europe since 2021 has been "simply dramatic," Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Compared to 2021, the decline in industrial production across many of Europe’s leading economies is simply dramatic. In Germany, the continent’s primary economy, often described as its locomotive, the drop ranges from 1.5% to 5.2%, triggering a whole chain of negative consequences for the entire eurozone economy," he told Vesti reporter Pavel Zarubin.

Industrial production in Russia has grown by 10% since 2021, and the manufacturing sector has climbed by 21%, Putin added.

"By the way, industrial production in Russia has grown by 10% compared to 2021. The manufacturing sector added 21%. There is, after all, a significant difference between minus 5.2% and plus 10% or, in the case of manufacturing, plus 21%," he added.
