Kiev pursues strategy of suffocating civilians in Alyoshki — Russian envoy

According to Russia's Permanent Representative to OSCE Dmitry Polyansky, the Ukrainian military conducted about 500 drone strikes against the territory of the Novokakhovsky urban district in the Kherson Region over the past week

VIENNA, October 1. /TASS/. Kiev authorities are deliberately suffocating civilians in Alyoshki, the Kherson Region, by preventing them from moving safely and accessing humanitarian aid, Russia's Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Dmitry Polyansky said.

"Civilians in Alyoshki are deprived of the ability to move safely, receive humanitarian aid, and use electricity and gas. This is not a military necessity, but a deliberate strategy of suffocating civilians," he said at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council.

The diplomat added that over the past week, "Ukrainian armed formations conducted about 500 drone strikes against the territory of the Novokakhovsky urban district in the Kherson Region alone." He noted that Kiev is trying, "in the best Goebbels-style traditions," to "use its own actions against civilians in Alyoshki to allege that Russia is to blame for the situation."
