Russia manages to independently produce SKIF installation equipment — Putin

The head of state called the equipment unique

NOVOSIBIRSK, August 11. /TASS/. There is nothing unexpected in the fact that Russia has managed to manufacture the necessary equipment for the megascience device, the Siberian Ring Photon Source (SKIF), President Vladimir Putin told students, graduates and young scientists of the Novosibirsk Region.

One of the young scientists said that he was one of the specialists who helped launch the large-scale megascience device project.

"After all, the launch of the SKIF was delayed a bit. This happened, among other things, because we did not receive some parts of the equipment that we planned to receive from abroad and had to produce them ourselves," Putin said, asking the scientist how he assessed the domestic development. The young man said that it was at a high level.

"So everything worked out well," the president responded. "There is nothing unexpected here," he said, adding that a significant proportion of the equipment in the French designs was made in Russia.

"Moreover, it is unique, which no one, in fact, apart from us, produces.".
