International law crisis due to intentions to turn it into privilege — Medvedev

The politician recalled that Western countries had actively promoted that concept for decades

ST. PETERSBURG, June 24. /TASS/. The current crisis of international legal institutions is mainly due to the intention to turn them into privileges, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.

"The current crisis of international legal institutions is mainly due to the intention to make it a privilege for a select group of few in line with this rules-based order," the security official pointed out. He added that Western countries have actively promoted this concept for decades.

"And, actually, this year they have acknowledged its collapse," Medvedev stressed.
