MOSCOW, April 10. /TASS/. Russian troops destroyed a Ukrainian storage facility with 32 howitzers and two UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) assembly workshops over the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Wednesday.
"Operational/tactical aircraft, missile troops and artillery of the Russian groupings of forces destroyed the Ukrainian army’s armament/ammunition depot storing 32 152mm D-20 howitzers, two workshops assembling unmanned aerial vehicles and a site for preparing and launching naval drones, and also struck enemy manpower and military hardware in 128 areas," the ministry said in a statement.

"In the Kupyansk direction, Battlegroup West units improved their forward edge positions and repelled a counterattack by an assault group of the Ukrainian 31st National Guard brigade near the settlement of Grigorovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The enemy’s losses amounted to 20 personnel, a tank, three armored combat vehicles and four motor vehicles," the ministry said.
In counter-battery fire, Russian troops destroyed a US-made 155mm M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery system, a 152mm Msta-B howitzer, two 122mm Gvozdika motorized artillery systems and two Bukovel-AD and Nota electronic warfare stations in the Kupyansk direction over the past 24 hours, it specified.

Russian forces gained advantageous ground in the Donetsk area over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In the Donetsk direction, Southern Battlegroup units took better positions and inflicted damage by firepower on the personnel and equipment of the Ukrainian army’s 5th assault, 22nd, 28th, 67th, 93rd and 115th mechanized brigades near the settlements of Krasnoye, Novokalinovo, Kleshcheyevka, Novoye and Kurdyumovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.
Russian forces also repulsed four counterattacks by formations of the Ukrainian army’s 10th mountain assault, 33rd mechanized and 46th airmobile brigades near the settlements of Viyemka, Pobeda and Krasnogorovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, it added.
"The Ukrainian army’s losses amounted to 360 personnel, two US-made M113 armored personnel carriers and five motor vehicles," it specified.
In counter-battery fire, Russian troops destroyed a Polish-made 155mm Krab self-propelled artillery system, a British 155mm AS-90 Braveheart self-propelled artillery system, a 122mm Gvozdika motorized artillery system, two 122mm D-30 howitzers, a 100mm Rapira anti-tank gun, a US-manufactured AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radar station and two Nota electronic warfare stations, the ministry said.

"In the Avdeyevka direction, Battlegroup Center units improved their tactical position in active operations and repulsed 11 counterattacks by assault groups of the Ukrainian army’s 25th airborne, 71st jaeger, 59th motorized infantry, 47th and 115th mechanized brigades near the settlements of Pervomaiskoye, Vodyanoye, Novobakhmutovka, Umanskoye and Berdychi in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.
The Ukrainian army lost as many as 395 personnel, three armored combat vehicles, six motor vehicles, a 152mm Msta-B howitzer and a 122mm Gvozdika motorized artillery system in the Avdeyevka direction over the past 24 hours, it specified.

"In the south Donetsk direction, Battlegroup East units improved their forward edge positions and inflicted damage by firepower on formations of the Ukrainian army’s 72nd mechanized brigade and 128th territorial defense brigade near the settlements of Staromayorskoye and Urozhainoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.
In addition, Russian troops repelled two Ukrainian army counterattacks near the community of Nikolskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic, it said.
Kiev suffers 115 casualties in south Donetsk area over past day
The Ukrainian army sustained roughly 115 casualties in battles with Russian forces in the south Donetsk area over the past day, the ministry reported.
"The enemy’s losses [in the south Donetsk direction] over the past 24 hours amounted to 115 personnel and three pickup trucks," the ministry said.
Russian troops also destroyed a Ukrainian 122mm Gvozdika motorized artillery system and a 100mm Rapira anti-tank gun in the south Donetsk direction over the past 24 hours, it specified.

Russian troops inflicted casualties on three Ukrainian army brigades in the Kherson area over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In the Kherson direction, Dnepr Battlegroup units inflicted damage by firepower on the personnel and equipment of the Ukrainian army’s 65th mechanized brigade, 121st and 126th territorial defense brigades near the settlements of Rabotino in the Zaporozhye Region, Mikhailovka and Ivanovka in the Kherson Region," the ministry said.
The Ukrainian army lost as many as 65 personnel, three motor vehicles, a US-made 155mm M777 howitzer, a 152mm D-20 howitzer, a 122mm Gvozdika motorized artillery system, a Plastun electronic reconnaissance system and a Nota electronic warfare station in the Kherson direction over the past 24 hours, it specified.
Russian air defenses down 172 Ukrainian military drones over past day
Russian air defense forces shot down 172 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles and three smart bombs over the past day, the ministry reported.
"During the last 24-hour period, air defense capabilities shot down 172 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles, three French-made Hammer guided aerial bombs and two rockets of the HIMARS and Uragan multiple launch rocket systems," the ministry said.
In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 583 Ukrainian warplanes, 270 helicopters, 20,089 unmanned aerial vehicles, 499 surface-to-air missile systems, 15,741 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,266 multiple rocket launchers, 8,802 field artillery guns and mortars and 20,852 special military motor vehicles since the start of the special military operation, the ministry reported.
