Slovenia declares Russian embassy worker persona non grata — agency

LJUBLJANA, March 21. /TASS/. The Slovenian authorities have declared a Russian embassy worker persona non grata, the Slovenian Press Agency reported, citing the country’s Foreign Ministry.

According to the media outlet, the embassy worker has been declared persona non grata for "activities incompatible with diplomatic status." The Russian diplomat is expected to leave Slovenia no later than on March 28, the agency added.

A Russian Foreign Ministry official told TASS that Moscow would respond to Ljubljana’s expulsion of a Russian diplomat.

On April 5, 2022, Slovenia announced that the number of Russian embassy workers in Ljubljana would have to be reduced to match that of Slovenian embassy workers in Moscow. As a result, Russian embassy personnel were reduced by 33, from 41 to 8.
