MOSCOW, December 22. /TASS/. The upper chamber of the Russian parliament, the Federation Council, will hold the last plenary session of its current autumn session on Friday by voting on around 70 draft bills.
Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko will traditionally sum up the results of the session and outline tasks for 2024.
Among other things, the senators plan to discuss a package of draft bills that give the Russian National Guard powers to create voluntary formations. Their members will be provided with labor guarantees and benefits currently available to members of the Russian armed forces and volunteers assisting the Russian troops.
The upper chamber of the Russian parliament will also vote on several bills related to benefits for those taking part in Russia’s special military operation.
Also, the senators will discuss a bill aimed at reducing costs and expenses of organizations that operate and maintain hazardous production sites, and clarify certain industrial safety rules.
Also, a bill permitting security guards on duty at fuel and energy sector facilities to take anti-drone measures.
The upper chamber will also vote on a bill that cancels preferences for certain categories of European citizens who applied for a Russian visa.
