Russian security official sees discord in US, Europe over Ukraine support rising in 2024

Sergey Naryshkin also suggested that in 2024, most election campaigns in the West will take place in an atmosphere of confrontation between globalists and "proponents of realism"

MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/. The political discord in the US and Europe over such issues as support for Ukraine will rise next year, Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergey Naryshkin said in an article.

"Now, a few words about the situation within the Euro-Atlantic bloc. Next year, we are certain to see an increase in the level of public and political discord in the US and Europe on a range of issues, ranging from support for Ukraine to the promotion of the LGBT agenda," he said in the article published in the magazine called Razvedchik, or Intelligence Officer.

"One of the harbingers of the inevitable storm was Slovakia, whose last parliamentary elections, despite enormous pressure from left-liberal Western elites, were won by the nationally-oriented Direction - Social Democracy party led by Robert Fico," the official said.

He also suggested that in 2024, most election campaigns in the West will take place in an atmosphere of confrontation between globalists and "proponents of realism."

"And although it hardly makes sense now to predict the specific results of future campaigns, we can predict with absolute accuracy that Western politicians will habitually try to lay the responsibility for the inevitable growth of internal tensions in their countries on Russia, as well as on China and other countries that have the courage to offer the world their own vision of the present and future, which presents an alternative to the totalitarian-liberal 'concentration camp,'" he said in the article.
