No signs of atrocities seen after withdrawal of Russian troops from Bucha — diplomat

Four days after the Russian military left the city of Bucha, there was not a single sign of atrocities, not a single reference to it anywhere, Nebenzya said

UNITED NATIONS, April 4. /TASS/. There were no reports about alleged atrocities committed by Russian troops in Ukraine’s Bucha immediately after their withdrawal from the city, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzya said on Monday.

"There are no reports of the atrocities which are accredited to the Russian military in Bucha, which happened before the Ukrainian army took the control of the city," he told a news conference.

"Four days after the Russian military left the city of Bucha, there was not a single sign of atrocities, not a single reference to it anywhere," he stressed.

"During the time when the town was under the control of the Russian armed forces not a single local resident has suffered from any violent action," he added.

Statements made by the Ukrainian authorities indicate that Kiev views genocide as one of its warfare methods, Nebenzya said.

"Once he [Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky] arrived in Bucha, he hinted that this incident justifies any uncivilized response, by this, basically, he confirmed that the Kiev regime considers genocide as a method of warfare," Nebenzya said at a news conference devoted to the provocation in Bucha.
