Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said the recent meeting of EU foreign ministers was unanimous is support of further sanctions

VILNIUS, March 6. /TASS/. The European Union may take more time to discuss new sanctions on Russia in connection with the events in Ukraine, compared with approvals of the previous sanctions, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said on Sunday.

"The obvious targets have already been subjected to sanctions, so every new target for sanctions requires discussions, which take more time," he said.

Landsbergis said the recent meeting of EU foreign ministers was unanimous is support of further sanctions.

"Practically everybody agreed that the next package should include new names, certain economic sectors and enterprises," he said.

The minister said the policy to restrict international ties for the Russian banking system will be continued. "The list of banks to switch off from the SWIFT international payment system may be expanded," he said.
