The Libyan politicians, in turn, highly appreciated Russia’s position throughout the entire Libyan crisis

MOSCOW, February 8. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has reiterated Moscow’s readiness for constructive cooperation with Libya’s interim administration, the Russian foreign ministry said on Monday after Lavrov’s telephone talks with President of the Presidential Council Mohammed al-Menfi and interim Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah.

"Sergey Lavrov reiterated Russia’s readiness for constructive cooperation with Libya’s interim government in the interests of the soonest overcoming of the protracted crisis in that country. He also stressed Russia’s commitment to closer cooperation in the interests of further development of traditionally friendly Russian-Libyan relations," the ministry said, adding that the Russian top diplomat noted that the newly-elected Libyan politicians had quite difficult tasks ahead of them and wished the success.

The Libyan politicians, in turn, highly appreciated Russia’s position throughout the entire Libyan crisis and noted "Moscow’s constructive and pro-active role in promoting the process of settlement on the principles of involving representatives of Libya’s all historical regions and political forces," the ministry added.

The Libyan Political Dialogue Forum in Switzerland elected Mohammed al-Menfi president of the Presidential Council. Abdullah al-Lafi and Musa Al-Koni were elected Council members, and Abdul Hamid Dbeibah was elected interim prime minister.
