New impetus should be given to investment cycle in Russia — Putin

The Russian leader said that regions also should be supported

MOSCOW, September 30. /TASS/. Russian authorities should focus on providing for a confident and long-term economic growth and launch a new investment cycle when preparing the budget for coming years, President Vladimir Putin said when speaking at the first meeting of the State Duma of the ninth convocation.

"Regions should be definitely supported, their budget resilience and the fiscal base. And overall, the economic development, the confident and long-term growth, and the start of a new investment cycle," Putin said when speaking about the budget for the next three years. "Specialists, experts believe that we have completed the prior one, many programs were fulfilled, and a new impetus should be given," the Russian leader noted.

The Russian financial system and the economy feel themselves confidently, Putin added.
