DUSHANBE, April 15. /TASS/. The production of primary aluminum by Tajik Aluminium Company (Talco) increased by 27% in the first three months of 2024 year-on-year to over 19,700 tons, Director of Economics and Personnel Pavel Dyck told TASS.

In 2023, the company’s production amounted to 66,649 tons, which is 7% higher than in 2022, while total production in 2024 is expected to exceed 84,000 tons of aluminum, which will be 25% higher than in 2023, Dyck said. In the first three months of this year 2,883 tons were supplied by the company for the republic’s domestic market, which is 550 tons higher than in the same period last year.

Growth of aluminum production is due to the fact that the work is underway at the plant as requested by Tajikistan’s government on recovery of production capacities, he said, adding that the management of the plant is involved in the search for partners on financing of projects on boosting production and its diversification. "Negotiations are currently underway with potential investors on financing of the current increase in production," he noted.
