KRASNOYARSK, April 11. /TASS/. An electric generator plant with investments of up to 1 billion rubles ($10.7 million) will be built in Krasnoyarsk by 2026. The products will be adapted to work in the Arctic, the Yenisei Siberia Development Corporation said in a release.
"Estimated investments in the project will make up to 1 billion rubles. The MegaWatt Company plans to launch the plant by 2026; preparatory work is currently underway. After the enterprise reaches full production capacity, it is planned to produce about 60 units of products per month; the capacity of electric generator units will range from 16 kW to 1,500 kW," the release reads. The construction will offer about 200 jobs. The plant will be located in Krasnoyarsk's Sovetsky District, next to the Krasnoyarsk Aluminum Plant.
The Yenisei Siberia Development Corporation and the investor company have signed an agreement on the project's support. "Right now, there are no factories or workshops in the Krasnoyarsk Region or in nearby regions that produce generator units adapted to work in Siberia and the Far North. The facility, located in the region's center, will provide products both for the Krasnoyarsk Region, and for the Siberian and the Far Eastern Federal Districts," the corporation quoted Arislan Ganiev, MegaWatt's executive director, as saying.
The MegaWatt Company was founded in 2004. It produces diesel power plants and units, diesel pumping units, high-voltage power plants, and other products. The Yenisei Siberia integrated investment project that unites the Khakassia, Tuva and Krasnoyarsk Regions was initiated in late 2017. In February, 2018, President Vladimir Putin supported its creation. In April, 2018, the regions inked a cooperation agreement.
