Russia’s annual inflation stays at around 7.48% on December 12-18 — Ministry

According to the statement, inflation in the food products section reached 0.40%

MOSCOW, December 20. /TASS/. Russia’s annual inflation from December 12 to 18 amounted to 7.48% and remained almost at the level of last week, the Ministry of Economic Development reported.

"In the consumer market, inflation fell to 0.18% from December 12 to December 18, 2023, with a 7.48% year-on-year price change. Inflation in the food products section reached 0.40%. Prices for fruits and vegetables increased by 2.11%, while prices for food products other than fruits and vegetables increased by 0.23%," the statement said.

It was reported earlier that annual inflation from December 5 to December 11 slowed to 7.47% from 7.52% a week earlier.

On September 22, the Ministry of Economic Development published an updated forecast of Russia’s socio-economic development for 2024-2026. According to the statement, the ministry raised the forecast for inflation in Russia in 2023 from 5.3% to 7.5%.
