Russia to export 55-60 mln metric tons of grain by end of agricultural year — Putin

It is stressed that Russian farmers gathered the record-breaking harvest - over 150 mln metric tons of grain

MOSCOW, February 21. /TASS/. Russia will scale up its grain exports to 55-60 mln metric tons by the end of the current agricultural year, President Vladimir Putin said in his State of the Nation Address to the Federal Assembly on Tuesday.

"As regards our agricultural production, it showed the double-digit growth rates last year. Thank you so much; the deepest gratitude to agricultural producers. Russian farmers gathered the record-breaking harvest - over 150 mln metric tons of grain, including over 100 mln metric tons of wheat. We will be able to move grain exports upward to 55-60 mln metric tons by the end of the agricultural year, that is, by June 30, 2023," Putin said.

According to statistics, Russia harvested 153.8 mln metric tons of grain in net weight in 2022, including 104.4 mln tons of wheat.
