Russian gold supplies to China up 80% in import value in 10M 2022

Russia is the tenth gold supplier to China in terms of import value

BEIJING, November 22. /TASS/. China’s imports of Russian gold gained 80% year-on-year and reached $329.9 mln, according to data from China’s Main Customs Administration analyzed by TASS.

Deliveries in October reached a record high of $124.3 mln and accounted for more than a third of the total volume supplied over the last ten months. August supplies ($108.8 mln) held the previous record.

This refers to raw gold, including gold with galvanized platinum coating and the precious metal in half-processed or powder form. The physical data of imported gold is not indicated.

Russia is the tenth gold supplier to China in terms of import value. The top three positions are held by Switzerland ($26.54 bln), Canada ($9.66 bln) and South Africa ($7.66 bln).

China’s imports of gold from Russia amounted to $236.88 mln in 2021.
