US exchanges suspend trading in Russian stocks due to sanctions — newspaper

According to the Wall Street Journal, NYSE suspended trading in MTS, Mechel and CIAN securities

NEW YORK, March 1. /TASS/. The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and NASDAQ suspended trading in stocks of certain Russian companies, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources.

According to the newspaper, NYSE suspended trading in MTS, Mechel and CIAN securities. NASDAQ temporarily halted trading in stocks of the Yandex Group and Ozon.

The suspension is temporary and caused by anti-Russian sanctions introduced by the US in view of developments in Ukraine, the newspaper said.
