GROZNY, February 20. /TASS/. Fighters from the Akhmat commando unit, together with a battalion from the 2nd Army Corps of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) people’s militia, have taken a strategic height in the outskirts of the settlement of Belogorovka, Chechnya’s leader Ramzan Kadyrov said on Monday.

"Fierce battles for control of that strategic height had been going on for long. After tense fighting, our units seized control of about 5 km of terrain, and also an approach to the railroad leading to Seversk, which by itself gives our side considerable advantages in that frontline area," Kadyrov wrote on his Telegram channel.

The Chechen leader also said that Kirgiz Musikhanov who had returned from the Ukrainian captivity rejoined the Akhmat commando unit.

"He is now the commander of a special operations company and is achieving splendid results in one of the most important frontline areas," Kadyrov added.
