NATO allies united in decision not to deploy forces in Ukraine — Secretary General

The alliance does not plan to deploy peacekeeping operations in Ukraine, Jens Stoltenberg stressed

BRUSSELS, March 16. /TASS/. NATO member states are united in its decision not to deploy forces in Ukraine or in Ukrainian airspace in order to prevent a direct conflict between the alliance and Russia, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Wednesday.

"The allies are united when it comes to that NATO should not deploy forces on the ground or in the airspace of Ukraine. Because we have a responsibility that this conflict, this war does not escalate beyond Ukraine," the Secretary General said.

He also added that the alliance does not plan to deploy peacekeeping operations in Ukraine.
