Over 3,700 Ukraine’s military infrastructure facilities disabled during operation

One Ukrainian Su-24 fighter jet and 11 drones were downed by Russia’s warplanes and air defense systems

MOSCOW, March 13./TASS/. The Russian Armed Forces have knocked out of action 3,736 facilities of Ukraine’s military infrastructure, Defense Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Sunday.

"Overall, 3,736 facilities of Ukrainian military infrastructure have been disabled during the operation," he said. According to the spokesman, 100 aircraft and 139 UAVs were destroyed, as well as 1,234 tanks and other armored vehicles, 122 multiple-launch rocket systems, 452 weapons of field artillery and mortars, and 1,013 units of special military hardware.

One Ukrainian Su-24 fighter jet and 11 drones, including two Bayraktars, were downed by Russia’s warplanes and air defense systems in the course of the special operation in Ukraine during the past day, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Sunday.

"On March 13, Russian aviation and air defense systems downed a Su-24 plane of the Ukrainian air force near the settlement of Novy Bykov and 11 unmanned aerial vehicles, including two Bayraktars," he said.

According to Konashenkov, Russian warplanes hit 46 Ukrainian army facilities. "Including three control centers, one multiple missile launcher system, two munitions depots and 33 places of deployment of military hardware," he added.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a televised address on February 24 that in response to a request by the heads of the Donbass republics he had made a decision to carry out a special military operation in order to protect people "who have been suffering from abuse and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years." The Russian leader stressed that Moscow had no plans of occupying Ukrainian territories, its goals were denazification and demilitarization of that country.

When clarifying the unfolding developments, the Russian Defense Ministry reassured that Russian troops are not targeting Ukrainian cities, but are limited to surgically striking and incapacitating Ukrainian military infrastructure. There are no threats whatsoever to the civilian population.
