Ceasefire was in focus of Lavrov's bilateral talks in Munich — Russian Foreign Ministry

MUNICH, February 11. /TASS/. Political settlement in Syria was in the focus of the Russian Foreign Minister's bilateral talks in Munich on Thursday, spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said, adding that prospects for ceasefire and improvement of humanitarian situation were in the center of the consultations.

"Following the talks, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry instructed experts to work out specific proposals for the International Syria Support Group' meeting , in order to help making the meeting fruitful and effective," she said, adding, "The priority attention was paid to the ceasefire problem and improvement of the humanitarian situation."

"The same issue of the Syrian crisis settlement and preparations for the International Syria Support Group's meeting was in the focus of Lavrov's other meetings, including those with [EU High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica] Mogherini, and with his Chinese and Iranian counterparts," Zakharova said.
