Donetsk, Lugansk authorities aware of Kiev’s planned sabotage on eve of elections

A security alert regime is announced in the republics for November 1 and 2

DONETSK/LUGANSK, November 1. /TASS/. Law enforcement authorities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics have information Kiev’s military are preparing sabotage on the eve of the election in the republics due on November 2, a joint statement of Donetsk’s and Lugansk’s intelligence authorities reads.

“The law enforcement authorities of the People’s Republics have information about the sabotage, planned by Ukrainian military, and have undertaken preventive measures,” the statement reads. “We guarantee security at the elections.”

“We control the situation,” law enforcement authorities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics said.

“Annoying information from Ukraine’s Security Service about possible provocations at the elections in Donetsk and Lugansk proves Kiev wants to frighten people,” “to lower the turnout.”

Eduard Basurin of Donetsk’s defence authority reported his ministry knew about the plans to send over reconnaissance and sabotage groups from Ukraine.

“Thus, we have improved our guards and also undertake certain measures against possible sabotage actions,” he said.

A security alert regime is announced in the republics for November 1 and 2, he said.
