MOSCOW, September 25. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Swiss President and Chairperson-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Didier Burkhalter on Thursday to discuss the organization’s role in the settlement of the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
OSCE Secretary-General Lamberto Zannier also took part on the meeting held on the sidelines of the 69th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Foreign Ministry said.
The sides held "a substantive exchange of opinions on the role of the OSCE in the peaceful settlement in Ukraine, prospects for discussion on European security, including within the framework of the Helsinki +40 process, and the preparation of an OSCE Council of Ministers meeting in Basel on December 4-5," the ministry said.
