Donetsk, Kiev verify prisoners’ list for exchange

“As yet we plan to release from the Republic 24 people, and three more are being negotiated now,” the representative of the Republic’s committee on prisoners of war said

DONETSK, September 21. /ITAR-TASS/. Representatives of the proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic and Ukraine are verifying list of prisoners for the exchange which is due at midday local time (1am Moscow time), a representative of the Republic’s committee on prisoners of war told ITAR-TASS on Sunday.

“As yet we plan to release from the Republic 24 people, and three more are being negotiated now,” the representative said. “If the negotiations are successful, the Ukrainian side will release 27 people.”

On Saturday, September 20, the Republic and Kiev exchanged prisoners of war on the “38 for 38” basis. The exchange, which took place 60 kilometres from Donetsk, was observed by the OSCE mission. It was over at 18:35 local time (7:35pm Moscow time).
