BERLIN, September 4. (Itar-Tass) – WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has requested that Germany’s officials launch an investigation into a former American soldier who allegedly engaged in illegal clandestine activity in the country. Germany’s Federal Prosecutor in Karlsruhe has confirmed that the request was filed by Assange’s attorney.

The latter told journalists that a former member of U.S. Marine corps spied on WikiLeaks founder during an international conference in Berlin. Allegedly the agent has prepared a confidential report on Assange which was later submitted to American security agencies.

Currently Assange is still in Ecuador’s embassy in the United Kingdom, trying to avoid being extradited to Sweden, where he is accused of sexual harassment. Wikileaks founder declared on several occasions that attempts of British authorities to extradite him to Sweden are orchestrated by the American government.
