CHISINAU, November 6. /TASS/. The opposition Party of Communists of Moldova has criticized the government’s intention to establish a visa regime with Russia, Belarus, and China - a move purportedly aimed at advancing EU accession but one that could detrimentally affect the lives of Moldovan citizens, Diana Caraman, the party leader and a member of the Moldovan parliament has said.
"Under the rule of the Party of Action and Solidarity, Moldova's foreign policy has devolved into a series of antagonistic gestures toward other nations, seemingly aimed at demonstrating allegiance to European officials. However, Moldova must prioritize avenues for dialogue and collaboration with a range of countries, grounded in its own national interests," Caraman asserted. She emphasized that implementing a visa regime with Russia, Belarus, or China would primarily harm the interests of ordinary people.
Earlier, Prime Minister Vasile Tofan remarked that for Moldova to make progress on its path toward European integration, it would be necessary to "introduce a visa regime with Russia, Belarus, China, or any other country as demanded by Brussels.".
