DUBAI, March 25. /TASS/. Yemeni Houthi rebels from the Ansar Allah movement have attacked the US aircraft carrier group USS Harry Truman in the Red Sea, representative of the armed forces formed by the Houthis Yahya Saree said.
"In response to American aggression against our country and the mass killings of civilians in Sana’a and Sa’dah, the naval forces, missile troops, and drone forces launched strikes with drones, as well as ballistic and cruise missiles, targeting several enemy warships in the Red Sea, including the American aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman," he said in an interview on the Houthi-controlled Al-Masirah TV channel.
Saree claimed that the Houthis attacked the US carrier group twice in the past 24 hours. According to him, the actions of the rebels "foiled the enemy’s airstrike" on Yemeni territory. The representative also stated that the Houthis continued striking targets in the Red Sea for "several hours."
On March 15, US President Donald Trump announced the launch of a military operation against the Houthis, who control approximately one-third of Yemeni territory. Trump explained the decision by citing Houthi attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. The operation involved the USS Harry Truman carrier group, based in the Red Sea, which regularly conducts strikes on territories in Yemen controlled by the Ansar Allah movement.
